Business continuity planning is one tool within a full programme of business continuity management (BCM). If you do not have an ongoing programme, you may have only a business continuity plan (BCP). Also, many "BCP" methodologies are really only re-badged disaster recovery planning (DRP), which is the same as being able to fight fires once they've started rather than being able to prevent fires from starting.
